What is Jin Shin Jyutsu?
Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient and dynamic healing system of acupressure. It is utilized to induce relaxation, increase vitality, strengthen the immune system, reduce pain, and balance the vital energy of the whole person -- body, mind, and spirit -- by rallying the body’s own healing mechanisms. Through the gentle application of hands on body according to established patterns, it has provided significant relief to patients suffering from a variety of complaints, while easily supporting the medical regime their doctors have prescribed. Jin Shin Jyutsu is exceptionally gentle and non-invasive, it works without the use of needles, pressure, or rubbing. It is a powerful tool available to those wanting to become actively involved in reestablishing health and well-being. When the allopathic and the traditional systems are used together, they can create optimal conditions for healing.
Cultivating Relaxation Through Meditation
In meditation the mind is given an effortless way to eliminate stress and progress toward satisfaction and growth. Meditation teaches us to go within, renew, relax and effortlessly support the development of our body, mind, and spirit. It is not concentration, contemplation or controlling the mind. Meditation is an effortless dive into silence. If our body and mind are relaxed, we will be in a deep state of balance, and, homeostatic balance means health. If we are deeply relaxed, our body’s natural healing tendencies will re-create health for us.
Deep restful state, Renews all organs, Release of stress.
Improved memory, Mental clarity, Productivity.
Decreases blood pressure, More energy, Improved sleep.
Dealing with Challenging Pain or Illness Through MindBody Therapy
Challenges can be positive or negative. When a challenge is positive, it may create an inner tension that is accepted as an opportunity to extend ourself and enhance our life through deeper appreciation of our feelings and values. The factor that makes a challenge negative and creates stress is fear. Fear is a painful emotion signaling a state of alarm. Fear initiates the brain’s fight, flight or freeze response which can be appropriate unless the alarm keeps signaling. Fear can be treated on a mental level with knowledge and on an emotional level with love. When we are in pain or ill, the body is speaking to us of a genuine need that we can uncover. Through psychotherapy, we learn to compassionately interpret what the mind and body are saying to us, and, gain a release from fear.
"Pamela Benison is the very best. She has the special gift that in just a few sessions helps one to look inward and discover the root cause of the issues. Her non-judgmental approach provided me with a safe place to explore my thoughts and feelings, and get rid of TMS (Tension Myositis Syndrome) once and for all. I would recommend her to any one seeking therapy." Vivian G.

Pam founded Integrated Wellness, Inc. as a teaching agency to bridge Eastern philosophy and Western psychological approaches to healing. With an emphasis on mind-body integration, she is a practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu, an oriental acupressure art. She has taught hundreds of her clients to utilize this simple technique to release physical symptoms as well as emotional stresses. Pam blends the best of complementary modalities with the current research for the integrated medical model.
With minimal effort, Jin Shin Jyutsu is soothing, relaxing and gently restores a balanced feeling for me. Pam is a nurturing person who facilitates the release of tension and a greater sense of peace. By taking the Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help class, I benefited personally and learned exercises to teach my clients for stress and anxiety.
I let go of struggle both physically and emotionally.
I feel very focused and present after the self-help exercises.
